Summary of the sport
Doonee is a new sport played on a court with a special ball called a Cor. Doonee is played by passing the ball from one side of the net to the other.
The Cor: The Cor is made of three lengths of hose. Each length forms a ring. The joining of the three rings into a ball shape forms the Cor.
It is easy make a Cor at very low cost, making the game accessible to anyone.
The Doonee’s Court is rectangular and similar in size to a volleyball court, but with two nets in the center, and a high bar midway between the two nets. This central bar is unnecessary for amateur play.
The TWO nets: Doonee is characterized by the two parallel nets in the center of the court. The reason for these is to prevent all physical contact and all aggressiveness and violence during the game.
Doonee is characterized by: the total absence of hitting, fast movements, or straight launches. During the game this is replaced by continuous, circular movements which make Doonee different from all the others.
Two teams
occupy their respective sides on the court, separated by the two central
nets. One player serves by standing with his back towards the opposing team and
serving the COR from any point within his team's play area.
The COR
should pass over the two nets, but beneath the central bar. A player on the
opposite team receives the COR, making sure it doesn't fall to the ground or
stop. For this reason, players will always be obliged to employ circular
movements with their hands and arms. Once the COR is received by a team member
it may be passed from one team member to another; the maximum number of passes
is the total number of team members, less one.
1. Before exceeding the number of passes the COR is launched to the other side of the net.
2. The Doonee game lasts for two, 12 minute periods. During each period each team scores points, and the team with the highest score wins. Points are scored as follows:
3. The COR stops moving.
4. Improper motion (straight movements, straight launchings, changes in COR velocity).
5. Launches under the nets or over the central bar.
Doonee Fundamentals
Doonee complies with 5 great Universal Laws
1. The universal law of non-violence: DOONEE is 100% pacific and human, for that reason in DOONEE there is no hitting of the COR and, even though the COR is volleyed continuously while in play, it is never struck or does it strike any part of the body.
2. The Universal law of no resistance: The player doesn't fight or force the COR and the COR velocity is never altered. It is also not slowed or accelerated during the passes, spins and launchings.
3. The Universal law of Perpetual Motion: as in nature with the movements of the atoms and the planets, DOONEE does not permit, even for an instant, the detention of the COR during play.
4. The universal law of conservation of energy: The Cor's velocity should remain constant during the game such that it never loses it's energy (momentum?).
5. The universal law of life: Life only uses curves and discards any straight line during play, due to the greater degree of evolution of the curved line.
