CHARACTERISTICS OF DOONEE

A. GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS

DOONEE has, in its external aspects, the following particularities:

1.
Even by his own, every one can learn it very easily, in a brief lapse of time.

2. It has been conceived for both sexs that's why it can be similarly played and enjoyed by men and women .

3. In general, from 6 years of age, DOONEE can be practiced indefinitely until very old age. Children (as far as possible) must always be supervised by adults when playing.

4. Players need current gymnastic equipment only. The use of protection gloves is recommended.

5. The courts with a floor of grass, asphalt, cement, wood, sand or ground, are excellent to play it. And all the year long.

6. All DOONEE implements are cheap and easy to do or to acquire, and its volume is small. Please, also consult this chapter: MAKE YOUR OWN CHEAP COR.

7. The playing area is similar to that of Volley-Ball, having 30 by 60 feet, more or less. And played in beaches, is excellent also.

8. DOONEE tends to improve the beauty of body movements, the sense of balance and the quickness of reflexes.

9. You can easily adapt yourself to this sport soft exigencies and to the characteristics of the equipment you use to play with.

10. Played by experts DOONEE players, this sport will never cause injuries and it lacks all risks.

11. It gives more vivacity and energy, and is very attractive to play and to watch. All DOONEE players amuse themselves much all along.

12. DOONEE is a very complete sport: the body and the mind are equally trained in a healthy and intense way.

13. DOONEE has demonstrated being an ideal sport and, in addition, is excellent for patients in recovery, for old people needing activity, and for handicaped children, young people and adults.

B. OWN CHARACTERISTICS

DOONEE has series of very own exceptional characteristics, that makes it a unique and exceptional sport, being totally different from all the other well-known sports.

1. It uses a special ball, called "COR", weighting one, two, three or more pounds. The weight of the COR varies according to player's categories.

2. This COR is a flexible, openwork and friendly ball, formed by 3 concentric circular rings joined together, unique in its design and formation, totally adapted to DOONEE.

3. This sport needs a court with "two high and parallel NETS". These TWO NETS are used to avoid all violence between the teams during the match. Violence easily appears when there's only a single net separating both teams.

4. Between the two nets, DOONEE leaves a "neutral area", for greater safety, in which nobody plays.

5. DOONEE limits the height the COR can be sent, by means of "one or two rods", each one centrally placed above its respective net.

6. DOONEE does not allow the Cor to touch court's floor during the game.

7. The Cor is continuously thown, but never it's strucked with any part of the body. (UNIVERSAL LAW OF NON-VIOLENCE)

8. DOONEE player nor hits neither fights with the COR. The reason is that the COR never is forced to vary their natural speed, nor is restrained nor accelerated in order to make passes, turns and launchings during the match. (UNIVERSAL LAW OF NON-RESISTANCE)

9. As it happens in Nature, with planets and atoms, DOONEE does not allow, nor for a moment, the halting of the COR during the match. (UNIVERSAL LAW OF THE PERPETUAL MOVEMENT)

10. When CORS of greater weight are used, DOONEE recommends to players the use, in the lower waist, of a "double turn strong belt" in order to avoid injuries and to give them more strengh.

11. A great part of launchings takes place with one or two complete turns or rotations of the body.

12. During the game, the Cor is received, moved and sent, always having both legs semiflected, with the pourpose to conserve the body with a low center of gravity, at any moment.

13. The player's feet must remain always separated to each other in order "to stay on guard alert" and to be able to react very quickly.

14. DOONEE limits to 4 seconds the time a player can hold the Cor in his hands.

15. In a very beneficial and singular form, DOONEE forces the mind to participate by means of relaxed movements and reflexes.

16. On a minimum of twelve points (for each team) there will be a winner in an encounter.

17. The winner will have to accumulate a minimum of 50% more points than the opposite team. If not, they will tie.

18. DOONEE establishes a system of priorities to approach the Cor, during the game. The idea is to help the player to receive the COR with his right hand.

19. No player confronts the COR when it is in movement, but he always places himself outside the COR's trajectory in order to avoid sanctions and to handle it very properly.

20. The Cor must be maintained flying always at the same flying speed during the game. (UNIVERSAL LAW OF CONSERVATION OF ENERGY)

21. Only the hands, and no other part of the body, can touch the Cor during the match.

22. The unique way of serving the COR is with the player standing back to the opposite playing area and using both hands to thow the COR over his head (See REGULATIONS).

23. DOONEE rejects all "streigth lines launchings" during the game, because streight lines are much less evolved than curved lines. All life is formed only by curved lines. For that reason, DOONEE is played only using curved lines for all the movements of the COR. (UNIVERSAL LAW OF LIFE)

24. DOONEE also has a "mental game form", which is played by very expert DOONEE players, in a common court, sometimes using CORS of more than 20 pounds, without greater effort nor fatigue.
